Clemson and the Hokies are set to battle Saturday evening. The second trip to a 'Death Valley' stadium this season and the first one was depressing to say the least.
I believe the Hokies can win this game. If for no other reason than our defense. With that said, at some point the offense has to get going. And that point is this weekend. It seems as if we are one catch here, or one block there from breaking games open but then we stall.
Tyrod Taylor has shown some indecision between running and passing and has missed some passes but that's to be expected with a true frosh qb. The more alarming and disappointing play has been with the rushing game. With a true freshman qb, a solid and consistent run game takes so much pressure of the quarterback. We haven't had that. Branden Ore has not had the stellar year that made him all ACC. The offensive line isn't holding thier blocks, or even getting to them in some cases. The quarterback has the longest rush of the season I believe at 20 yards. This from a Va Tech Virginia Tech team (the media guide insists that we be referred to as Virginia Tech)???
I'll put it like this, despite the embarassing defeat to LSU, with the past weekend of upsets, the National Championship is indeed still up for grabs. The Hokies win out their season and they can have a their hands in the fray. . . . .
