Sam Cassell in Purple and Gold??

Riverside Press Enterprise (registration required): "Cassell made $6.187 million this year and has said he's seeking at least a two-year deal that will garner him the same amount. Cassell has said the Lakers, who could use another point guard, are one team that has shown interest."

This is interesting to say the least. Sam Cassell has been considered the reason for the Clips getting over that hump, that lovely playoff hump. Could he go down the hallway and be the difference maker in LakerLand? Does he want to? Could anything make for a better rivalry if he did?

I appreciate the comments and the kudos. So being in phx, what did you think of the MVP voting? Kobe 4th??

a JOKE, x. i try to be objective
about this stuff, but in addition to winning the scoring title and being first team all-nba, kobe took
a team that was predicted to finish
tenth to the seventh game against the winner of the pacific div. (totally changing his game in the process.) had the call been made on tim thomas at the end of game 1 - for putting that walnut on kobe's forehead - we would have swept the damn thing.
i thought it was between kobe and lebron, personally. that's not a rap on nash, though; he's a great pg. but c'mon....
also saw on the rumor mill on another sight about how philly is going to dump ai and rebuild, and that the lal's are interested. don't think it's going to happen (not enough $ in the kitty), but wouldn't it be something to have 2 guys on the floor who could put up 100 by themselves.
if we can get sammy, though, i'd be a happy camper. we can deal with 6-7 mill.

ps - it's boohoo-ville in px today.
never thought i'd be rooting for cuban's team!

I actually think I'd prefer Sam to AI. As a sidenote, I actually went to high school with AI in Virginia. Not saying we were friends cuz we weren't but he was just as amazing then.

I'd agree it was between Kobe and Lebron. I think what's even more upsetting is there is no way Kobe could legitimately finish 4th. Impossible, no explanation can justify that. And you're better than me, I rarely try to be objective ;)
