The death of Manhood

Feminists, stop now! Read no further. And if you do, don't feel the need to comment because I won't feel the need to reply.

This post is strictly for the men that don't watch any program on WB. This post is for the men that are tired of seeing men made a fool of in every commercial, sitcom, movie, and other form of 'entertainment'. This post is for men that don't want to see a playtex commercial during the fucking Super Bowl. This post is for men.

Men, do we remember what it felt like to be a man? Where are the Al Bundy's of the world nowadays? Why can't I scratch my nuts when I feel necessary? Women are allowed to breast feed whenever the drip drip is necessary so why can't I take care of the itch itch?

Manhood is defined by a lot of things. But for the past ten years, men have allowed women to define what manhood is and there's something seriously askew with that. After all, though many women have tried none have been a man. Does anyone find it odd that you can hear the statement "You need to be a real man and blah blah blah" about umpteen times watching daytime TV but never do you hear the opposite? Why is that? Why doesn't Maury, Jerry, or Dr. Phil ever have a show that highlights men that have taken care of their children, provided the necessities (and unnnecessities) to their spouse, have not cheated, and most importantly have changed the man they were in order to satisfy the needs of their family?

The world has flipped over the past decade or so. No longer does James Brown's song title 'It's a Man's world' explain current soceity. Oh, channels like Lifetime would have you believe that men everywhere are treating women like an inferior gender but seriously is that the case? I've seen more men walked on by women in my life than vice versa. Easily.

I've mentioned this before but I read an article a while back that mentioned the breakdown of missing persons is about 50/50. Oddly enough, if a man disappears there is rarely a 'national story' and may make the local news for a day or so. If a woman disappears we know every detail for two weeks. At least.

Even in more trivial things such as shopping. The argument is that women do more shopping. Well, hell, if men had a larger selection, more choices, maybe men would shop more. You see what the hell men do at a Best Buy or Home Depot?!?!

It's gotten to the point where I can't even listen to most local morning shows because of their undeniable lean to the female audience. Let's take for example the bert show on q100 here in Atlanta. This might as well be the Lifetime radio network. Note there are four hosts, two of which (and I use the term very loosely) are men, two of which are women. Sounds good right? Nope, Bert might as well be a penis-equipped woman. He's the saddest form of married man lifeform that I have ever witnessed. He's not effeminate in his speeck so to speak, but he is so ridiculously and disgustingly effeminate in his words. It's hard to believe that this man pees standing up most of the time. It's to the point where I may start a hate blog for this man's morning show. By the way, I only hear it because the wife and I carpool and naturally she loves the show.

Back to the main point. What I don't understand is why men are expected to change all the time? Why are men always at fault? Why are men portrayed so ridiculously negative in the media a majority of the time, whether it be portrayed as ignorant, or violent, or chauvinistic, or dishonest, or 'as a pig'? Why are so many men sitting down for this????

I apologize that this rant has bounced all over the place but I hope the general point is made.
